The most important test data files are the Nozzle Check Pattern and Standard Check Pattern in GT-3 printer.

Nozzle Check Pattern (Color) and Standard Check Pattern (Color 600dpi x 600dpi)

Nozzle Check Patterns (Color/White) are inevitable for pre-print check. Standard Check Patterns (Color/White, 1200dpi x 1200dpi, 600dpi x 600dpi) are something like questionnaire in medical examination. Not only mis-firing, it can tell everything of your printer's conditions.
For example, print head alignment can be checked like that if you can see some color is shifting from other colors like photos below. |

Or some print head might be spreading ink mists. In that case check the surface of the print head nozzles, and clean them with Nozzle Cleaning Kit, swabs (cleaning applicators) and wash liquid.

There are some other cases that we have to print specific patterns to know what's going on. GT-3 has a variety of Test Data, Color/White, resolution and the machine model(machine mode in Printer Driver). If you install GT-3 Printer Driver from the Install CD, then those data are in [ Brother GT-3 Tools ] > [ Test Data ] of your PC. If you download the brand-new version, then download the Test Data separately (file size is huge to download at one time) and save them in your PC. You can print just like other ar3 files. Select and click [ Send to GT-3 Printer ] Button.

This data is to check the feathering (spreads) of CMYK ink on some thin, less-absorbency materials. Check the print result if ink is "enough" or "too much" on a specific garment. Refer to the roll-over help on the Printer Driver when you select the number. |

You can check white ink volume of Highlight/Mask. Data of Mask 1 to 5 are in the row, Highlight 10 to 1 in the column. |
