GT-3 Cookbook: All About White Ink: Check it!
White ink with less whiteness

********* White Ink : Check it! Less shaken, less refreshed *********

The following two photos are before/after the Daily Maintenance, on Monday morning, after a few prints on Friday and weekend. The left photo shows that all the nozzles of the four print heads are perfect but white ink is just like "water". The right photo shows that W1 head has some missing nozzles but the print is white enough. You can see the difference and how important the daily maintenance is: well-shaken, well-refreshed.

After Auto head cleaningAfter "Load White"

So the easiest way to confirm the whiteness is to print the Test Print "Whiteness" in [Test Print] menu on a pretreated garment. It is printed in the center-top position of 14x16 Platen.

The print data of "Whiteness", the same colors in the CMYK Nozzle Check Pattern.

Be sure to execute Head Cleaning if you see "missing bands" (banding) in the nozzle check pattern W3 in the left photo below, or if you see the white/gray banding in the print (right photo).

The issue was caused by the dirty wiper and to wet wiper cleaner. After cleaning and exchanging, everything was fine.

Go to Clean it page, clean the caps/wiper and replace wiper cleaner for print quality.
